About Portland Movie Tours®
Cori and Dan Ronyak founded Portland Movie Tours® in 2008 after taking a fun filled Hawaii Movie Tour® on their honeymoon in July 2007. (Cori and Dan were married 7/7/07.) They fell in love with Kauai, and the idea of visiting movie locations, and decided to become licensees of Hawaii Movie Tours® in Oregon. Along with guidance from Hawaii Bob, San Francisco Brian and visiting the Boston and Monterrey Movie Tours® websites, they took the leap.
In early 2008 Cori and Dan journeyed to Seattle and bought a little used Community Transit bus. Thanks Frank! And Decal Guy® helped them wrap the bus with colorful logos and photos, as well as graphics work. Thanks Shado! Car Toy's® put in a rockin' surround sound system, Thanks Eric and pals! And Dan's friend Ken at Simplicated Web Designs® helped out by creating a website to get the fledgling company up and running by October of 2008. Yay Ken!
Dan drives the bus but he also loves screenwriting in his spare time and has sold one comedy screenplay to a producer in Oregon, and is a television show developer. Cori guides the tours but is involved in film via her work at Make-Up Artist Magazine® in Vancouver, a pre-eminent trade magazine for Hollywood movie industry make-up effects artists.
More than anything, they love sharing the great Oregon locations with people who love movies. From the End of the Oregon Trail to the End of the Lewis & Clark Trail, these tours wind through some of the most beautiful gorges and forests of this country!
Tours of Twilight and Goonies are the most popular so far, but the Portland Downtown landmarks and bridges are great and the movie sights will soon be even greater thanks to Harrison Ford, Kerry Russell and Brendan Fraser, filming Crowley here this summer, as did , the Timothy Hutton television show for TNT.
For anyone coming to visit Portland, we highly encourage a trip with Portland Movie Tours®. Come and see what it's all about. Lights... Camera... Action!... Movie Tour®!
